| Description | Abused Deaf Women's Advocacy Services (ADWAS) of Seattle, WA is building the nation's first Deaf-based transitional housing for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. They are nearing the $7.6 million mark for the capital campaign to build "A Place of Our Own" transitional housing. The Alpha Chapter of the Phi Kappa Zeta Sorority is raising funds for this endeavor though a 5 K Walk/Run to take place on Sunday, July 18, 2004. It will take palce at the Holly Pavillion of the Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis, MD. Registration begins at 7 am and the walk begins at 8 am. $20 to register, $5 per additional participant of a family or a group. Encourage family and friends to support the walkers and the "A Place of Our Own" project by making a donation. Make checks payable to ADWAS and send it to ADWAS 2627 Eastlake Avenue East Seattle, WA 98102 or bring it to the 5 K Walk/Run!
